Waterfront dining is a treat and the Friendly Fisherman is right at Hubbard's Marina at John's Pass. The restaurant offers mostly seafood selections as well as a breakfast menu. The setting is nautical and informal with wait staff moving about swiftly. Some people come right off the boats and dine in their fishing clothes. The Friendly Fisherman offers a complete dinner for $4.95 if you bring your freshly caught fish with you. Wendy caught 6 gray snappers on their deep sea fishing boat and brought them to be be cooked. They were wonderful! We had half of them fried and half of them baked. For the price we also got Cole slaw, fritters, and French fries. There are discount coupons at most hotels that offer a free drink (soft drink, cocktail or beer) or free chowder or seafood gumbo if you purchase an entree.
