The Process

Before you start your investigation, you will have read with your teacher the following stories: Johnny Appleseed, by Aliki and The Seasons of Arnold's Apple Tree, by Gail Gibbons. 

Your teacher will have placed you into groups according to your interest.  The groups will be Spring, Summer, Winter, Fall, Johnny Appleseed, and Apples.

Here's where your investigation will start!

• First your group will access the internet through the links provided.  
• Print the following Activity sheets

  • Apple Tree Seasons Worksheet
  • Apple Activity Sheet
• Complete the Activity Sheets as a group using the following information and books in the classroom
  • Johnny Appleseed Information
  • Four Seasons of Growing Apples
  • Pictures of apple trees throughout the season
• Now that your Activity sheets are complete,  it is time for the group to come up with three facts about your team topic.  These facts are going to be used in a play that you will be putting on for your parents, teacher, and friends.
• Now it is time to make your props for the play.  Click under  your team name and follow the directions.

• You have now done your investigation, your team facts, and your prop for the play.  Job Well Done.  Time for rehearsal of the play.
