Eidetic Images 2

This is a simulation of a test for strong eideticism. This example is modeled after a reported in Scientific American, April, 1969, pp. 36-44. This simulation does not provide adequate controls for a true test. Its purpose is simply to demonstrate what we mean by eidetic images and what having an eidetic image would be like.

To take the test, you will need:
1. A friend to print out the instructions. Have friend click HERE to show instruction page to print out.
2. Pen and paper.
3. A water-based marker that can mark the computer screen.
4. Set your browser so that inner window is maximum. Right click near top of browser window and uncheck "Address Bar." And/Or eliminate "start" bar at bottom of screen if you know how.
5. Set your screen properties to 800 x 600 resolution.

Follow the steps in order below.

STEP 1. Look at the SIZE CHECK IMAGE. This just verifies that your computer screen properties are correct and that you have eliminated the Address Bar.

STEP 2. Do this ONLY ONCE. You will be shown an image for 30 seconds. Be sure to look at the entire image. Move your eyes over the image. After the image disappears, your friend will ask you questions.

NOTE: Move the cursor away from the image if Internet Explorer automatically puts a small, grey, Print and Email Icon at the upper left of the image. This icon will disappear. The image you will see has no Icons on it. It is just a picture.

STEP 3. Hit BACK button on browser to return to this page.

STEP 4. Click HERE to check some results of Experiment as performed by subject in STEP 2.
