IDEAS
"THE IDEA INTO INVENTION
PROCESS "
IDEAS ALONE ARE NOT PATENTABLE.
Ideas are the starting point of Invention. You must solve
the problem from which your
idea originated, that is, an invention must be enabling. For example, an
idea for a
fantastic new, better mousetrap that catches mice like crazy is the IDEA...but
you must
fully explain HOW YOUR PARTICULAR MOUSETRAP
does what you envision it
to do. Often, several inventors may have solved the same problem that your
invention
does..such as, providing a better mouse trap; however, the inventors may
have solved
the same problem in a DIFFERENT MANNER
from your invention, and, therefore,
your invention may (or may not) be patentable. Patentability is to be determined
on a
case by case basis in view of latest case law and recent decisions that
can impact your
particular area of invention. We can advise you further for your PARTICULAR
CASE
and INVENTION, at a personal one-on-one consultation or by snail mail or
e mail.
WHAT WE NEED TO BEGIN THE PATENT PROCESS:
After you have checked the marketplace yourself and feel that there is
a market for your invention, all we need is a brief written description
of your invention (in your own words..nothing fancy..just clear and understandable)
of what it is and how it works and a simple sketch.
WHAT WE DO
We will review your disclosure, sketch and verbal inputs at a personal
consultation (in
full confidence) and provide you with a FREE WRITTEN Cost Proposal outlining
your next step toward filing a patent application (if warranted).
Please be prepared to provide the basic requested information at our initial
meeting or via mail.
