SPAM Filter Setup Procedures

 Eudora Light 3.0, Pro 4.3, 5.x - Filters

Eudora allows you to control the destination of incoming email based on several different user defined criteria which are implemented in the "Filters" utility. One of these "Filters" takes all  messages with a certain word or words in the subject line and sends them to a specified folder. You can use this filter to take all messages with [SPAM?] in the subject line and send them to a SPAM folder that you create. This will help keep your Inbox less cluttered with unwanted email. You can check your SPAM folder once a day or so to quickly see if there are any emails of interest to you. Then you can clean out this folder by deleting all the emails.

Setting up SPAM filters in Eudora

1.
Open up Eudora. At the top, click on Tools, then Filters as shown below:

2. Click on New on the bottom left. Ensure that "Incoming" is checked. Next to the first "Header:" select Subject from the drop down menu. Below this ensure that "contains" is selected and type in :  [SPAM?] in the box to the right. The three remaining boxes in the "Match" section can be left alone.

3. Under "Action" click on the drop down menu and select "Transfer To".

4. Click on the bar to the right and then click on "New". Type in SPAM for the name of the folder and click on OK.

5. The setup should look as shown below.

If everything looks correct, close the Filter window. Click on "Yes" when it asks you to save changes.
