NEW BAGS 2008

The photos do not do these bags justice. These are bags are new for 2008, though some were made at the end of 2007. They are mostly felt, or felt in combination with other materials (leather, for example); and a combination of felting techniques, including wet felting, fulling of old sweaters, and needle felted elements. You may go to my "Felt Series" page to see a description of how I make felt. I don't make "amulet bags" per se, however, some of my bags have tiny amulet-type bags attached, and some have small amulets filled with thyme leaves, lavender flowers, or rose petals, as their focul point. Straps and fringe are all hand braided, mostly in 4-strand braiding, sometimes in three. All my bags are lined in coordinating material, and the straps are long enough to allow you to wear them around your neck if you so wish, though they are actually made to hang on the wall and hold precious items, like knitting needles, paint brushes, wooden spoons.

In these bags, the spirit resides under the head of the fox.
