- "Mae" Emily Moore Scattergood died most likely due to a heart attack following Caesarean section - from a heart condition caused by childhood rheumatic fever.
- The body of "Mae" Emily Moore was cremated. The package containing her ashes was discovered in the early 1950s by her son, Gene Arthur Scattergood, in a tool cabinet in the basement of his father's home on Geneva Road, South Yarmouth MA. Her ashes where scattered by Albert Scattergood ca. 1955-56 somewhere on Cape Cod. . . sadly, the whereabouts are unknown. . .
. . . her remains may be lost, but her memory is not forgotten.
