• April 17, 1942:   Court proceedings begin between Albert Arthur Scattergood (represented by the lawyers
    of the Christian Science Church in Boston) and Josephine Moore & Edward H. Orton (represented by Bradley Moore)
    for the custody of Gene Arthur Scattergood. . .

1943Abducted from the home of Edward and Jo Orton at Port Washington, Long Island, NY most likely during October or
    November by two representatives from the Christian Science Church, Boston following decision for appeal
    from The New York Surpreme Court and returned to Albert Arthur Scattergood in Boston, MA

1943-45• Live with father, Albert Arther Scattergood, in boarding houses in Boston and Newton from fall of 1943 to spring of 1945,
    who works night shift at Raytheon on radar tubes for war (WWW2) defense.

    Visit "May" Scattergood Baker and her family during summers. Drive through forest fire in Plymouth.

1944• Death of Howard Gardner Rogers

• Birth of Richard "Dick" Orton

1945 • Sent to Old Main Street, Bass River, Cape Cod to live with Helen "May" Scattergood Baker and Josephine Baker (daughter).
    while AAS remains in Boston and visits the Cape occasionally on weekends and during summers.

1947 • July 13:   Birth of Howard Baker Kelly, South Yarmouth, MA

AAS moves from Boston to Bass River, Cape Cod and moves in with his older step-sister "May" Scattergood Baker; works as independent taxi driver until ca. 1950 when he was hired as a "steak cook" for The Peter Pond Club in Barnstable; refused membership in the Christian Science Church of Hyannis - the only time I ever saw my father cry - but later admitted into the church as a regular member.

• Attend sunday school at the Christian Science Church in Hyannis until junior high school.

1948• November 28:   Birth of Joan Angell, South Yarmouth, MA

1949• March 4:   Birth of Betsy Ross Kelly, South Yarmouth, MA

1950• Sale (foreclosure) of The Baker Family Homestead (ca. 1670); AAS and GAS move into new house on Geneva Road,
    (near Long Pond) South Yarmouth, MA. nbsp; MSB moves into nursing home.

• September 14:   Birth of Robert Angell, South Yarmouth, MA

1951• Begin paying AAS rent; work weekends and summers as a caddy, stockboy, dish washer, short order cook, waiter, etc. . .

1952-54

1955 • Elisabeth S. Rogers moves into Geneva Road house with GAS and AAS following manic-depression "breakdowns" in
    Philadelphia, PA and a couple of hospitalizations in RI.

Mary Emily Moore Scattergood's ashes scattered somewhere on Cape Cod by AAS.

1956• Attended Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School

• Friendship with Mrs Irma Zigarmi, Drea and Irma (Yolanda); art student of Mrs. Pauline Hopkins

• October 19:   Death of Helen May Scattergood Baker, Bass River, S. Yarmouth.
