       NOTES
    1. Married Howard Gardner Rogers in 1941; honeymooned in Bermuda.

    2. Following Howard Gardner Rogers' death in 1944, Elisabeth was institutionalized a number of times for "manic depression."

    3. Elisabeth Scattergood Rogers died by suicide. She chopped off her hand at her Lakeview Road home and drove her car to Bass River where she walked into the river. Her body was found washed ashore at Chatham. It was identified by Bill Angel.

    4. Elisabeth Scattergood was cremated; her ashes were scattered over Bass River (at the Windmill Beach) by Gene A. Scattergood.
