DANA HALL SCHOOL

"Founded in 1881, Dana Hall was a preparatory school for girls that espoused the equality of women, avoided unnecessary rules and stressed individual development." (Cindy Nickerson)

This webpage is for friends, former students and colleagues of G. A. Scattergood, who taught at the school from 1968 to 2006 (he was head of the art department during his first 10 years). It is not affiliated with Dana Hall School in any manner. charlotte russell partridge and miriam frink shared their personal and professional lives for fifty-five years; they were co-founders of the layton school of art in milwaukee, wisconsin which was established in 1920 and closed in 1974

miss partridge was the director of the public works of art project in wisconsin in 1933-34 and also directed the wisconsin federal art project from 1935-39. A native of minneapolis, miss partridge had studied and taught at a number of major institutions before joining the arts faculty at milwaukee-downer college in 1914; she was director of the layton art gallery, and of the layton school of art.
