Cecil Clark Davis, USA 1877-1955 (portrait painting)   was an award-winning portrait artist who painted many of the important people of her era, including Charles Lindbergh, Lionel Barrymore, and Alexander Graham Bell. The only daughter of a successful Chicago industrialist, she summered with her family in Marion, Mass., Cecil Clark was serious about her interests in painting, sports and dogs. In 1899, she married the renowned journalist, novelist and playwright Richard Harding Davis. After their devorce, she devoted the rest of her life to painting.

Delaney, Beauford, USA, 1901 - 1979 was a celebrated artist who was part of the Harlem Renaissance during the 1930's & 40's. He moved to Paris in 1953 where he developed a distinct style of abstract impressionism, and became a mentor and friend to expatriate writers James Baldwin and Henry Miller.
