September 7, 2010 ~ Tuesday ~ High Def
So it seems like YouTube has finally allowed (or, fixed their bug for) the searching of HD vides by upload date. For the longest time, it was one or the other, but not both at once. Using this new capability, I searched for some new HD Jools Holland content. What I found, however, is more frightening than any horror movie I've seen, or any scary game I've played. Some things were not meant to be recorded in HD, this is something that should not have been recorded at all. Seriously, don't even watch this, and if you do, be especially careful for your vision of the "Eddie Munster with lipliner" guy. Those sights are going to be burned in for a while. In fact, not a single member of this band is safe to view.
Spaghetti Western Orchestra - The Good, The Bad And The Ugly (Later with Jools Holland) HD 720p
As a slight contrast, this is a video that should most certainly have been recorded, but perhaps not in HD (who really wants to look at Neil Young in HD?):
Neil Young - Rockin' In The Free World (Live at Glastonbury 2009) HD 720p
   That's all I've got.

May 14, 2010 ~ Friday ~ Dial T for Tiberium
Okay so I was watching the Lady Gaga "Telephone" video and noticed (as have others) that she makes poison using a few ingredients including Tiberium. You know whatever video editing nerd that slipped that in is now king amongst lesser nerds. Pretty cool.

March 22, 2010 ~ Monday ~ Pomplamoose
I'm always watching random stuff on YouTube, lots of horrible stuff, lots of good stuff, but every now and then, something blows my mind. Such is the case with Pomplamoose.
The recipe here is one part great vocals and one part great musicianship, which combines into greatness. What pushes this over the top - waaay over the top - is the professional and engaging "what you see is what you hear" style of video editing. You could simply listen to these tunes, but you'd be missing at least half the fun. Here's a few examples:
     Lady Gaga - Telephone
     Beyonce - Single Ladies
     Michael Jackson - Beat It
     The Chordettes - Mr. Sandman
Earth Wind and Fire - September
Okay, I'll stop here, before I end up linking ALL of their songs. Seriously, they're all great, do yourself a favor and check them out.

January 23, 2010 ~ Saturday ~ Another Year
How very exciting, a new year. Oh, whatever.
I tried the demo for zombie driver tonight, much as I suspected, it's just.. not that good. I mean, it's good, and it's fun, but to me, it seems more like a flash game than a fully-fleshed game. Also, the movement of the camera took a little getting used to. All in all, would not buy.
