The Wounded Healer |
Judith has apprenticed as
the wounded healer, dealing with serious physical and psychiatric conditions
starting at age 19. She officially became "disabled" in 1985, left Abt Associates
where she had worked 17 years, and completed a degree at Lesley College in the
Psychology of Health and Illness.
Judith formed Pooled Resources in 1986. She works with people using many modalities and in many settings to help ground her vision to facilitate healing at both personal and systems levels. She specializes in stress management, cultivation of emotional intelligence, therapeutic movement, writing and other expressive arts.
Judith is a tutor working with MRC consumers (the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission) and consults with the agency on special assignments including: Presenter "Inducing Wellness" at the 1999 Annual Consumer Conference; Principal Investigator for a comprehensive study of SSDI and the Decision to Return to Work; speaker at a training on Informed Choice, panel member reviewing Supported Employment RFR's, team member on the 1996 Vocational Rehabilitation Redesign Team. She has served on several MRC advisory boards, including the Statewide Advisory Council.
Judith holds civil service Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor II standing, and RSA certification in Job Development from Assumption College. She tutors individual consumers in employment and school settings and has conducted stress management trainings for MRC area office staff, administrative office personnel, and for other public agencies. She worked part time for 5 years at Fernald Development Center, Waltham, and has had a variety of coaching and tutoring assignments.
Judith became a certified Healing Tao Instructor in 1991. She acquired training in the Sedona Method of emotional releasing in 1996, and in Healing From the Body Level Up, Emotions and the Immune System, and Healing the Enneagram Wound in 1999. She has co-facilitated programs for staff and consumers of an MRC area office and for inmates at MCI Concord, and the Northeast Correctional Center, also in Concord, Massachusetts. You can join her for "Emotions: Love 'Em and Leave 'Em" at a summer retreat in the Catskills, at Regis College, Weston, MA, in Nashville, and in Toronto.
Judith authored "More Than Meets the Eye: Energy" and "The Little Grounding Book", writes "Health Matters" in the national monthly, Connections, is adjunct faculty at Regis College, and is a Reiki and counseling practitioner at Longfellow Health Center, and on the staff of Longfellow Club Fitness Center, Wayland, and the European Health Spa, West Newton.
