History and Mission

The Parents Alliance for Catholic Education (PACE) was established by the four Diocesan Bishops in May 1994. PACE's mission is to educate the Catholic school community about public policy matters that impact their families, teachers, and schools. PACE assists the 84,000 Catholic school students in the Commonwealth to access their fair share of state and federal education program services and materials. The staff accomplishes this by providing timely information to schools, organizing conferences, advising school personnel and parents about service entitlements, and attending school district meetings with Catholic and public school administrators with regards to various state and federal programs. PACE is especially focused on building grassroots and legislative support for increased parental choice in education for Massachusetts.
