Early Education and After School Programs

Thanks to the advocacy work of PACE, Catholic schools are now eligible to accept voucher payments from the state Office of Child Care Services for before and after-school programs. PACE has prepared a guidance document (pdf) to help principals in their decision whether to apply for licensure to accept vouchers from the Office of License Exemption from the Office of Child Care Services (OCCS) and enter into a provider agreement with a Child Care Resources and Referral Agency (CCR&R) so that you will be able to accept vouchers.

You may download the application form from the OCCS web site by clicking on Licensing. It is important to remember that this is a two-step process. The first step is to apply to the regional Office of Child Care Services (OCCS) for License Exemption. The second step is entering into an agreement with the Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (CCR&R) in your area. Requirements may differ from agency to agency.

PACE has prepared a list of OCCS regional offices by diocese:

  • Boston (pdf)
  • Fall River (pdf)
  • Springfield (pdf)
  • Worcester (pdf)
