HELIOS, an early Greek Sun God, drove a golden chariot across the sky every day as he brought light, warmth, and life to mortals. He is said to return from the West to the East each night in a golden, winged cup, forged by Hephaestus (the smith-God of the Olympians). He sees and knows all as he traverses over the whole of the Earth. He gives of his heat and energy that the crops may grow and humans may thrive.
