Canadian Nationals
(March 24 - 27 ) NECP took to the road this March, under the disguise name of "The Polo Bears" and invaded Canada for their first National Championship! There were over 20 teams competing in the tournament, but alas it was the USA that prevailed in the end. The Polo Bear team went up 7 strong.

Dave (Oh! My phone is Ringing!!) Wright (seen here taking his famous view-of-the-bottom-of-the-pool shot) led an experienced team consisting of Joe (Where is my Beer Damnit?!) Mikulsky, Brian ( Show me Hooters) Tewksbury, Pat (Yes! Taco Bell) Marshall along with our Canadian virgins Scott (I won a sweeter) Simpson, Bill (where are my contacts??) Schoolcraft and last but not least Dan (WOOOOWWW) Weiss.
We went up against the best from Canada (the Canadian National A and B side) and a very strong team from San Francisco and some other US and Canadian teams. We played extremely well outscoring our opponents 16 to 12, but lost two close games and finished in fourth overall in the tournament. All and all a very strong showing for our team in the face of such strong competition. The rookies all played exceptionally well and really came through in tough situations. In fact, MVP honors of the tournament are going to Dan, for his outstanding improvement in the matter of just a few hours! Next on the map is the US Nationals in Fort Collins Colorado on Easter weekend! We are planning to take two teams and this time we are coming home with the title!!

Fort Collins Colorado. This Easter we'll be competing in the second US Nationals competition. With the Kiwi team (last years winners) scattered all over the globe, NECPO looks to be the odds on favorite this year.
After the tournament, plan on heading to the slopes for some spring skiing. Team spots are still open to all levels and age groups.
