The sire, call name Zeus, just turned three in May and received a NA P2, 106 pts in 2005 and is working his way towards UT. PennHIP results are .25 Right & .33 Left.

The Dam, Dixie, hails from our "E" Litter. She is four years old and in March was tested in UT where she received 185 pts, but no prize because she failed the steadiness by blind portion of the test. She has been OFA certified as "Good" for her hips.

The primary focus of the Greylock Glen breeding program is to strengthen the hunting instincts of the breed, while maintaining the classic physical characteristics of the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon.

We feel that, despite the best intentions of many breeders, too much emphasis has been placed upon refining the Griff's physical attributes at the expense of developing the breed's natural hunting instincts and abilities. When breeding, we look for dogs with keen hunting instincts, particularly in the areas of desire, ability to run/range, use of nose and strong pointing instinct.

Cooper retrieving at an early age.

We admire the concept of many European breeding programs where dogs must pass/qualify the equivalent of NAVHDA's Utility Prep/Intermediate test before allowing a breeding to take place. This ensures that strong hunting instincts will be passed from generation to generation, and we strive to achieve these same high standards when breeding our dogs. All dogs selected for breeding are checked for hip displaysia using OFA x-rays and their eyes are CERF certified prior to breeding.

Although our #1 priority is to breed a truly versatile hunting dog, we also pride ourselves on producing dogs with good temperaments and loving personalities. We go to great lengths to ensure that our puppies are well socialized with both adults and children. Beginning at an early age, pups are given individualized attention sessions every day. As they get older, we expose them to various situations and stimuli to promote their physical development and mental confidence. When we have a litter, it's not uncommon for the neighborhood kids to come over the house on an almost daily basis to play with the pups.

Our goal for every one of our puppies is to place them in homes with people who want a loving, dedicated hunting partner that will be an ambassador for the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon breed.
