EMILY DICKINSON*

(1830-1886)

Emily Dickinson, the Amherst, Massachusetts poet, charmed a nation with verse. Her most prolific writing period coincided with The Civil War. She secretly penned hundreds of poems, though less than twenty were = published in her lifetime. Her circle of friends, the literature and philosophy of her time, her baking, and gardening provide the grist for her writing and our understanding.

Using many of Dickinson's own words the programs offer a window into classic American literature. The revived Miss Dickinson brings her poems, stories from her world and questions and answers to her 20th century visitors.

Venues include:The Drama and The Children's Show, The Victorian Mystery Guest and the music filled From Here to the Hereafter.
