Summary of The Races Weekend of October 18
 By Paul Mancuso

A total of  36  members from the LSRC ran the Firefighters 10k.  They did not let the rain get in their way, as evidenced by the large number from the LSRC that turned up for the race. A big pat on the back to all members who showed up in less than ideal weather conditions. The Boston Globe had a picture of a sailboat that had nearly got pushed onto Morrissey Blvd. (which is part of the race course) during the Storm. It was a good day to have two pairs of running shoes.

On the second " big" weekend of marathon racing they also had rough sledding However  the weather did not dampen the spirits of the runners at Lowell. Congratulations to all members who qualified for Boston.
Great job By Holly Madden with the fleet time of 3:04 on such a dismal day. Hassan I don't know how you got those indestructible knees, but you ought try and patent them.

A Summary of The Races on Columbus Day Weekend
    By Paul Mancuso

I don't know what her time was, but it really doesn't matter. Joanne Morriss completed her 33rd consecutive-------Bonny Belle/ Tufts 10k Road Race. She is one of only 18 women who can claim that distinction. Joanne and the 17 other women were given an honorary pink jersey to run with in today's race.---------------------------------------------Although Joanne is recovering from an injury she made a great effort in today's race. ----------------------------

Approx 70 runners from the L Street running club ran the BAA Half Marathon on Oct 11.  Congratulations should go to the members who got a first second or third in their Division.  The half Marathon is to us the king  of races because it requires a near perfect blend of speed,  endurance, and toughness, to run a good race.
