Latest Rumors through August 22, 1997

Note: See my discussions with Frank Reader from May 19, 1997 and John Douglas from June 13, 1997 to fill in the gaps after the original rumors page.

July 1997 (anonymous)
It looks like TCS might still be at Shabby Road as the sale of the studio is still being finalized. When they do move it, it appears they're heading to London.

TCS are apparently shopping some demo tapes to record companies in London and may be sending some to US labels as well (maybe Rykodisk?).

One of the songs they're working on (don't know if it made it to a demo tape or not) is called "Duty Free".

TCS were contacted by the the British Council, a non-profit international organization which is working with a company called Scotland the Brand, who exist to promote Scottish products overseas. Scotland the Brand is helping to organize "Scotsfest 98", taking place in New York City beginning January 25, 1998. TCS met with organizers on July 29 and both sides apparently came away impressed. Whether TCS can participate will depend on a number of factors, not the least of which will be the Scotland the Brand's final selection of performers and TCS' schedule at the time.

Let's hope this pans out, and while it would satisfy some of us who might be able to see them perform, it would more importantly give TCS some much needed exposure in the US.

It seems that TCS are definitely still at Shabby Road and will likely be there at least through the end of September. I'm not sure when the sale of the studio is going through at this point.

TCS apparently did send a demo tape to Rykodisk.

Two more demo songs are called "Leave Us Alone" and "Weightlifting".

That's it for now. Check back for more info later. Hopefully more news will turn up soon...and hopefully it will be good. Send some mail to TCS (address is in the FAQ) to keep their spirits up!
