Fax from TCS: January 15, 1997

received by Paul Leddy

I just received a fax from our boys (after I sent a fax to them)....It is chock full of interesting stuff, so read on.....

(It will help to know the following: during 1996 the list put together an extremely limited (110 copies were made, no more remain) TCS B-sides CD called "On A B-Road", with the profits from each disk sent to TCS as a sort of royalty payment. No more CD's can be made per agreement with Go!Discs, so please don't ask. The list also proposed flying TCS over to the US in 1997 to play a concert since a US tour looked doubtful - Ed.)

Dear Paul,

Sorry you had to badger us a little, but it's been a chaotic couple of months in Killie.

Gladdened were we by the b-side CD - at least someone got it together to release a record of ours in the USA last year. The money and generosity of the list members was embarassing and touching. We did donate some of it to barmen, but the bulk of it was spent on a wee electronic box for Paul, and is therefore to blame for his current, bleepy pop output.

As far as this convention idea is concerned, we couldn't commit to coming over there anytime in the near future as we're in the middle of negotiating a new record deal - GoDiscs, as you may have heard was bought out by a major recently and will be closing down for good this Friday. So you can understand our reluctance to plan any ventures until we find a new home. We're talking to another label though and are writing songs with an urgency that would otherwise be absent were things running smoothly along.

Please pass on our thanks to the list members, you're all awfully sweet, and if there are any developments with us, we'll let you know...

love,

TCS
