This image of Lon Chaney as The Phantom of the Opera first hit this piece of paper as a very brusque screenprint.  I then drew on it with markers, crayons, colored pencils, whatever.  So did my son Alexander, then two and a half years old.  Finally, while out of town teaching a week-long workshop I completed it with pastels and mailed it home to Alex.
