This piece has an interesting story. A student at the college where I teach (but not a student that I had ever had, nor did we know each other) somehow came across my website. He was into it and told a friend about me and my work. The friend told him that I teach at this VERY SAME college. So the student sends me this:
Pretty damn brilliant. And funny. I love it. Lugosi and the Marx Brothers... makes you wonder what they would've been like together...
Anyway, so I'm impressed and I've gotta respond. But how? I want to reference what he's done, butI don't have any Marx Bros. images... maybe I could do a comic? No, he did his so well that anything I do would pale in comparison... hmmm...
So, as I'm puzzling over what kind of postal surprise I will aim at this young man, I'm cleaning my studio. Well, not really, since I never clean my studio (click here to witness the chaos). But I did have to move some stuff around in order to get at stored items that a family member needed. In doing so I uncovered an ancient Marx Bros. poster that belonged to I don't know who. This not 20 minutes after I received the comic strip! Strange coincidence... or unexplained phenomena?
Well, you can
guess what happened from there.
