In this age of computers and the Internet, information is power.
However, many people don't bother to keep the basic records that will insure that they are protected legally. How
do you handle your financial records? Can you defend yourself if a landlord or a mortgage lender says you've missed
a payment that you know you made? Do you have an inventory of your family heirlooms in case of a fire or theft?
In this book, A. Joseph Ross, J.D. shows you a process for record keeping that will prepare you to succeed in life's
legal battles.
A. Joseph Ross first started learning about paper trails at a young age, when
his father taught him about writing checks and keeping organized records. He continued this learning into his years
as a lawyer, where good record-keeping is essential. He received his J.D. degree from Boston University School
of Law in 1970. He worked for several years in small law firms and as a hearing examiner and a staff attorney at
the Brookline Rent Control Board, then in 1975 opened his own solo law practice. Over this time he has counseled
hundreds of clients on how to organize and maintain their records, protecting themselves in current legal battles
and preventing future ones. He teaches Adult Education classes and has taught at seminars for real estate professionals
and lawyers.
In this book, Mr. Ross uses his extensive teaching experience to explain the ins and outs of record-keeping, in
clear, easly to understand language.
