Why I like fishing Mashpee Wakeby!!!!

July is here but I haven't seen much sun or warm weather!!!!  Most of the ponds are just about finishing up with the spawn.  Thank goodness- I fished 2 tournaments on Mashpee this month 17, and 25,  and the fish were still on the beds.  I hope it doesn't screw up the fishing in the next 3-4 years.  A lot of fish were displaced!!  I think we've turned the corner and can now concentrate on post- spawn fishing.  John's was very good yesterday, just before that mamoth thunder storm came through the Cape. The small mouth are about 12 feet and shallower.  I found the largemouth in about 10-12 feet.  Some were up shallow in the weeds and took ratltraps, spinnerbaits.   The small mouth took the top water sammy or spook.  The Rod Jockeys go to Agawam River this month.  I haven't been there for a long while-  any help would be appreciated!!!  This time of year, I remember that it is full of coontail and lily pads.  I have my frog tied on,  I hope my practicing with the jig in the pads at Santuit will pay off!!  Freedom is fishing Mashpee.  That should be a fun tournament,  the fish should finally be biting all over the pond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have written a synopsis of how Vern and I fished the Bass Nation Team Trail for 2007 and won the title of Anglers of the Year.  Also how we fished the Freedom Team Trail and qualified for the TOC.

I have written a synopsis of how Pete and I fished the Federation Trail in 2005, and the 2006 season.  I didn't give out Pete's secrets but more of my techniques and thought processes.  I hope you might glean a little information that might help you in your fishing.
