The Friends of the Plymouth Pound operates no-kill shelters in Norwood, and Manomet Massachusetts and has other animals in foster care in private residences located across the South Shore area.
Our primary cat shelter is normally located at the the Petco store located at 1210 Providence Highway (Route 1) in Norwood, Massachusetts. However, we are currently dealing with a TEMPORARY state regulatory issue beyond the control of the FPP and Petco that forced us to move our cats out of the Norwood Petco store and place them in foster care. Check back here as an announcement will be made once we are able to move out cats back to Petco in Norwood. Petco is terrific and has been very good to the FPP. Please continue to patronize them during this difficult time.
Our secondary shelter is located in a private residence in Manomet, a section of the historic town of Plymouth, MA. Visitors are welcome by appointment only. Call Gayle Fitzpatrick at (508) 224-6651 to inquire about available cats and dogs.
You can also visit the Kingston Pound in Kingston, MA to see additional animals available for adoption. Please call the town of Kingston animal control officer at (781) 585-0529 for more information.
The Friends of the Plymouth Pound are featured on the award winning "Paw Prints" TV program which is broadcast on PACTV channel 13 every Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. and every Tuesday at noon. This program is available to cable subscribers living in the Plymouth, Kingston, and Carver areas and we are presently investigating other cable service providers. Tune into "Paw Prints" every week to see some great cats and dogs who are looking for good homes.
Every Wednesday at 7:10 a.m. the Friends of the Plymouth Pound have a "Pet of the Week" segment on radio station WCOD FM. The FPP spotlights a different animal awaiting adoption on Dan and Stephanie's morning radio show. Tune in if you can.
The Friends of the Plymouth Pound are also involved in periodic cat shows and other events in the Boston area. Take a look at our events calendar to see what's coming up in the near future.
