Remembering Ned
These are the final messages.
Clare Green/Ned's "ole ma" Sun Jun 5 08:55:17 EDT 2005 Welcome and thank you to Bruce Wilson for his thoughtful efforts of revision to Ned's website. As spring emerged once more, I was reminded of what Ned said to me when he was 11 or 12, "The many essences of May enlighten my outlook on life." Wishing you all the best of the seasons and thanks for visiting Ned's site. His book, CUTTING A BOND WITH THE LONG TRAIL should soon be published. jim parrish Mon Aug 15 10:00:59 EDT 2005 I've only known Ned through meeting Clare and in visiting this memorial...it's easy to see how he meant so much to so many and how easy it will be to remember him... Kiley Landry Tue Aug 16 09:23:38 EDT 2005 Clare- This is Jeffrey Dubay's step-daughter, Kiley. I never knew Ned, but I knew how much he touched everyone's lives that he had the chance to meet. I was married on July 23rd,2005 and went to Maine for our honeymoon. We decided on our way home to go through the White Mts. We even were spontaneous enough to drive up the Mt. Washington auto road on a whim. We had one of the clearest bright and windy days out of all year that day. I knew Ned was there. It was breathtaking and invigorating; just like Ned. I Just wanted you to know I was thinking of you Clare, and your beautiful eyes, that captivate everything that was Ned and is you. Jeffrey misses you, too. Stop by the Freight House sometime for a Hermit or piece of my mom's pie! What a wonderful way to memorialize Ned with this site. It's great! Love and Prayers, Kiley Landry SDW Fri Aug 26 06:13:21 EDT 2005 A touching testament.. Thanks you Sean O'Brien Sat Dec 24 13:57:19 EST 2005 Going up to Harvard cabin today to spend Christmas. And maybe climb up topside tommorow. It's not the same without Ned. Thanks for evrything I know your up there somewhere. Kim Ballard Fri Jun 16 08:39:32 EDT 2006 I went to COA and graduated with Ned, and yet we were not close friends, he was always kind and friendly - wonderful twinkling eyes and always made me smile to see him. this site is a wonderful homage to him and his zest for life - if only we all could be as lucky to go doing the thing we love most.
Webmasters notes: Tue Apr 26 12:13:51 EDT 2005 We had to change the message format while updating the site in April 2005.
It has been an inspiring experience to work with this memorial material and to have the chance to read through Ned's hiking logs. I only knew Ned as a boy growing up in Warwick. Turned into quite a guy.
