Position Information
Position Title: Minister of Music
Brief Position Description: Active, committed congregation seeks talented musician, energetic
leader to work with pastor, choirs, worship ministry team, volunteer musicians,
and congregation in all aspects of musical life of congregation. The weekly
worship services include one traditional service of Lutheran liturgy
(Evangelical Lutheran Worship) and one contemporary service with blended
musical styles. Position requires knowledge of contemporary and traditional
church music, mastery of pipe organ and piano, ability to develop and lead
vocal choirs (senior and children’s Sunday School
Music Program). Must be good at administrative duties and work well with
people. Degree in music desirable.
Number of services: 2 weekly year round
Music
Groups: Senior
Choir – 10 to 12 members
Sunday School Music Program - sings during Church School Hour and performs
periodically in worship
Contemporary
Singers - accompanied by piano and other instrumentalists
Organ: Wicks
pipe organ recently digitally reconfigured (2 manuals 12 ranks)
Piano: Superbly restored Steinway grand
Compensation: Competitive
Number of hours: 20/week
