SHS he says, she says about proms
By Nicole Yee

For some, the prom is a time to dress up, dance, and party. To others, the word “prom” just gives them a headache. The huge amount of money needed, the endless preparation, and the anxiety that surrounds finding a date takes the fun out of the prom and makes it more of a nightmare than a night to remember.

Both guys and girls agree that the prom would be more enjoyable if it didn’t incur serious debt. But when asked if they would want to lessen the cost by having the prom in the high school cafeteria, 100% of the guys and 88% of the girls answered, “NO!”

With the long list of complaints, it’s a surprise that anyone even ends up going. However, the majority of SHS guys and girls agree that a number of things make the prom a memorable and fun evening.

In addition, 53% of the girls and 79% of the guys believe that taking a limo is the best way to arrive at the prom in style.

So how can you guarantee that your prom is a night to remember and not one that you would rather forget? Many SHS students believe that who you choose as your date plays a huge role.

Just because the prom has ended, doesn’t mean that the night is over. Many look forward to the after parties just as much as the prom.
