Windows NT Dial Up Networking Setup

Step 1. Open up My Computer and then double click on Dial up Networking |

Step 2. The following window should appear. If the connection is not already made, click on New and follow the instructions. Otherwise, click on More and select Edit phonebook Entry. |

Step 3. The phone book
properties should now appear. The following settings are important in this area. Phone number: local access number Dial using: choose your correct modem In NT, having the right modem is very important, please do not skip this step. |

Step 4. Click on the Server
tab. Here are the settings needed here. Only TCP/IP and Enable PPP LCP extensions should be checked here. Click on the TCP/IP Settings button. |

Step 5.
Select Specify name server addresses Primary DNS: 208.218.130.4 Secondary DNS: 208.218.130.5 Use IP Header compression and Use default gateway on remote network. Click on OK. |

Step 6. Click on the Script
tab. On this tab, you need to make sure that the selection you have here is set for Pop up a terminal window Click on the Security tab |

Step 7. Here you need to
have Accept any authentication including clear text selected. Click OK. At this point the connection is set. Click on Dial and the computer will ask for a username, password, and domain. Please just click on Ok here. Then the computer will dial and the terminal window will appear. Fill it our accordingly and you should be connected. |
