Windows 2000 Setup

 

1.       Click the Start button, click Settings, and choose Control Panel.

  1. Double-click the Network and Dial-up Connections icon.

  1. Double-click the Make New Connection icon.

  1. Click the Next button.

  1. Select Dial-up to the Internet.
  2. Click the Next button.

  1. Select I want to set up my Internet connection manually.
  2. Click the Next button.

  1. Select I connect through a phone line and a modem.
  2. Click the Next button.

  1. In the Area Code field, type the area code of your local access number.
  2. In the Telephone number field, type your local access number.
  3. Click the Next button.

  1. In the User name field, type your Galaxy username. Be sure to use all lower case letters.
  2. In the Password field, type your Galaxy password.
  3. Click the Next button.

  1. In the Connection Name field, type Galaxy
  2. Click the Next button.

  1. Click the Yes radio button in the Do you want to set up an Internet mail account now area.
  2. Click the Next button.

  1. In the Display Name field, type your name.
  2. Click the Next button.

  1. In the E-mail address field, type your email address. Your email address is your Galaxy username followed by @gis.net
  2. Click the Next button.

  1. In the Incoming mail server field, type pop.gis.net.
  2. In the Outgoing mail server field, type smtp.gis.net.
  3. Click the Next button.

  1. In the Account name field, type your Galaxy username if not already there.
  2. In the Password field, type your Galaxy password.
  3. Check the box next to Remember password if you would like to have your password saved.
  4. Click the Next button.

  1. Click the Finish button.
