Go to Apple Menu - Location - Network Preferences
Users can have Multiple Locations (Configurations) - Make sure you are working with the correct one - select New Location if you need to make one for GIS settings (Otherwise just edit home or default)
From the Network screen Configure should be set to: "Internal Modem" (vs. Ethernet) - From the TCP/IP tab - set Configure to "Using PPP" - Type in our Domain Name Servers: "208.218.130.4 (hit enter) 208.218.130.5"- Enter "gis.net" under Search Domains
From the PPP tab - Enter the full 10 Digit Access Number - Type in username and password all in lowercase.
From the PPP tab - You can select PPP Options to see the option screen shown above - Make sure both Use TCP header Compression and Connect Automatically... are checked
From the Modem tab: [Should be fine with defaults] - make sure Dialing is set to Tone and that "Wait for dial tone before dialing" is checked
Click the Save button. You are now ready to connect to the internet.
