Suggested Criteria Set One Positions of a Political Mensch

Number 1 Should expenses and income relate to each other? Weren't we taught that income and expenses should be balanced.

Number 2 Should business be regulated and how? Weren't we taught that government must protect us from abusive big business.

Number 3 Should we be concerned with our environment? Weren't we told that we share this earth together and must protect it.

Number 4 Should we be entitled to health care? Weren't we taught that, as our brother's/sister's keeper, everyone's health deserves attention.

Number 5 How do we research medical care? Weren't we taught that we can improve ourselves through science?

Number 6 How do we assure that all Americans live well? Weren't we told that, in America, everyone can earn a decent living.

Number 7 How do we limit the accessibility of weapons of violence? Weren't we taught that, as a compassionate society, we should resolve differences through discussion and voting.

Number 8 How do we improve our ground, public transportation such as intercity trains! Weren't we told that all forms of transportation should be developed?

Number 9 Should we legalize drug use in order to control its misuse? Weren't we told that paradigms for our behavior can grow and change.

Number 10 How do we create new jobs! Weren't we told that we're capable of creating new employment opportunities?

Number 11 How do we protect our Bill of Rights? Weren't we taught that our Bill of Rights is one of America's greatest contributions to humankind?
