10 Ways the Obama Administration can change America

Number 1

Isolationism.

Advocate universalism NO ONLY in regard to the environment BUT ALSO in regard to advancing democracy, compassionate capitalism, free trade, human rights and privileges, health care, education, housing, jobs, and transportation.

Number 2

Pacificism

Acknowledge that some things are worth fighting for. Recognize just offensive wars as well as just defensive wars. Do not confuse personal tragedy and grief with national objectives and security.

Number 3

Political Correctness (PC)

Do not insist that all democrats must be of a like mind on matters. Encourage questioning and challenging of assumptions and premises. Don't ostracize fellow democrats who dare to disagree about matters.

Number 4

Defeatism

Dare to believe that we can succeed in virtually anything which we put our minds and bodies to. Don't consider it naïve to be optimistic. Don't insist that we can’t win when we experience set-backs. Re-read the history books about vicissitudes of experiences in getting from point A to point B. Learn to understand that persistence toward good goals is valor.

Number 5

Elitism

Don't think that democrats are any better than republicans. All Americans are concerned about their country, their economic, social, and religious groups, and their families. Try to understand that evil or incompetence does not reside only in politicians of another party and that good and competence does not reside only among democrats.

Number 6

Misdirectedness

Stay focused on programs which advance human rights and privileges in America and elsewhere. For examples, strongly advocate for single-payer national health care insurance; public transportation improvements; universal education improvements; more middle-class housing; assisting refugees; improving communications systems; and job development programs.

Number 7

Self-righteousness

Use the soapbox to advance understanding and appreciation. Remember that no one owns absolute truth.

Number 8

Moral Relativism

Don't equate apples and oranges as equivalent. Don't treat victim and victimizer similarly.

Number 9

Appeasement

Don't appease tyrants of the worst order. Be very careful and skeptical when dealing with demagogues, particularly those who encourage furtive terrorism or openly announce intentions of wiping out others.

Number 10

Lack of Vision

Remember always to espouse a dream not only for a better America but also for a better world, particular to emphasize the goodness of representative democracy and compassionate capitalism.
